Application Process

Applicants must complete a short Potential Projects Form providing brief details of the potential project. The Potential Projects Form will then be taken to the next meeting of the Local Action Group and, if judged as a possible LEADER project, an application form will be issued to the applicant for completion.

The first step for applicants is to complete a short Potential Projects Form providing brief details of the potential project:

Project Co-ordinators and Local Action Group (LAG) members can advise on how to complete this form.

The Potential Projects Form will then be taken to the next meeting of the LAG and, if judged as a possible LEADER project, a full application form will be issued to the applicant for completion.

Please note that a detailed application form will only be made available after the LAG has reviewed the completed Potential Projects Form.

When submitting the full application form, the applicant will need to supply a variety of information, details of which will depend on the nature of each project coming forward. Examples might be: details of the applicant’s organisation and constitution, any planning permissions or building warrants, estimates of equipment/services being provided, detailed proposal of the project including who is going to undertake the work, and letters confirming the applicant’s own contribution and match funding are in place.

The application will be assessed against the Programme objectives and discussed at the next meeting of the LAG for a decision on an award of funding. The LAG meeting dates and deadlines for receipt of potential project forms and application forms are as follows:
