Who Can Apply?

We can accept applications from constituted community groups, social enterprises, micro or small businesses, voluntary organisations or public sector bodies with a project idea that will benefit the rural community.

In addition to the types of group already detailed, individuals with public support for their project, and whose proposals implement the local strategy can also apply in some cases. These projects will be community driven and will benefit a wide section of the community rather than just the individual concerned.

A minimum LEADER grant of £1,000 applies.

An important part of the LEADER principle is innovation. All projects approved will have to demonstrate how they are innovative and how they fit with the main themes of; Revitalising Communities and Progressive Rural Economy. The target groups are Women, Young People, Micro and Small Businesses and Self Employed and Social Enterprises.

A list of projects receiving LEADER funding is available on the approvals page.
